Parking lot upgrades at The Slavic Church Emmanuel are nearing completion. Work on the organization’s outdoor spaces began last October. Now, only the installation of new light poles remains undone. When completed, visitors to the church will have a safe and accessible path into the building.

Located at 2025 SE 82nd Ave, this project re-fenced portions of the property, expanded paved spaces, and modernized lighting. Permit 21-009474, currently under review, seeks to remove older light poles and replace them with newer units. Crews have already removed the obsolete infrastructure and prepared electrical conduit for the pending installation of new lights.

By the time members are allowed to return, this location will become a model of efficient and functional parking. Additionally, the fence and new lighting will deter misuses of the parking lot. Expect to see a brighter spot along SE 82nd Ave soon.
